If you are a competitive athlete or a fit and muscular fan, the possibility of improving your athletic performance is one of your goals. Many people wonder whether taking sports supplements can give you fast and effective results without a lot of effort. But do sports supplements really function? Are they safe?
What are sports supplements?
Sports supplements (also known as ergogenic aids) are products that are used to improve athletic performance, which may include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, plants or concentrations, extracts or combinations of these substances. These products are usually available without a doctor’s prescription.
Sports supplements are considered food supplements or nutrition. Food supplements do not require approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) before going to the market. However, supplement manufacturers must follow current good manufacturing practices to ensure the quality and safety of their products. The FDA is responsible for taking action if a product is known to be unsafe after being placed on the market.
Critics with the supplement sector point to cases where producers have not followed normative manufacturing criteria. They also cited examples where the FDA has not enforced regulations. Both types of criticism can imply that supplements contain varying amounts of their ingredients or even ingredients that do not appear on their labels.
Some recipes and free drugs, such as anabolic steroids, are used to improve athletic performance but are not considered supplements. Although these drugs have been approved by the FDA, using drugs (even those sold without prescriptions) in a way that is different from their target makes users at risk of serious side effects. For example, adolescent athletes who use drugs such as human growth hormone (HGH) without a prescription may have growth problems and can develop diabetes and heart problems. This is the reason why some countries prohibit HGH enhancing supplements even though in reality they are completely harmless as long as they are not consumed excessively.
Benefits of having a good growth hormone level
Unfortunately, the natural production of this hormone decreases with age. From the age of 25-30 levels began to fall. To give you an idea, at the age of 25 years the HGH level is around 600ug and at the age of 60 if the right steps are not taken they can be in 100ug. However, if we succeed in having a good level, we can take advantage of the benefits it has provided for years.
Delay the effects of aging on the skin
It has been shown that this hormone is the main cause of changes in skin conditions as we get older. If we have good levels, the production of elastin and collagen will be high. These proteins increase skin elasticity and guarantee younger skin. It also helps in delaying fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and pigmentation.
This helps maintain weight
When aging begins, metabolism decreases if we don’t take the right action. I am tired of seeing people who always maintain an acceptable percentage of fat because they get fatter as time goes by while maintaining the same lifestyle. With increasing age, the ability to burn fat from the body becomes weaker, but if we have good hormone levels, we may maintain that capacity for years.
Increase muscle mass
By having good HGH levels, we will make it easier to get muscle because we will have more muscle cells.
The strongest immune system
Adequate levels of HGH in the body lead to a more reinforced immune system thanks to a high level of white blood cells. This makes the body have a more effective response against any attack by external agents.
Increase energy and vitality
HGH makes it easier to burn glucose with fat. Therefore, not only will it help us keep the line but we will see ourselves with more assets and with more strength to face the challenges of life.
Everything that is excessive is not good, as is the use of sports supplements including HGH enhancing supplements. HGH is not even a steroid but a hormone that is naturally produced by our bodies and HGH enhancing supplements serve to keep the HGH level in the body at a stable level and as long as it is not overused, it should not be prohibited in the sports world.
